Calcium stearate is white powder, insoluble in water, cold alcohol and medical ether, soluble in hot benzene, benzene and banana water and other organic solutions, slightly soluble in hot alcohol and medical ether. When heated to 400°C, it dissolves slowly, is flammable, and dissolves into stearic acid and corresponding calcium in case of strong alkali, and has water absorption.
Calcium stearate has the following four manufacturing methods:
1. In the instant method, add quantitatively analyzed stearic acid and CaO in a reaction pot equipped with a stirring device and a thermometer, raise the temperature to melt, slowly add the metal catalyst H2O2 under continuous stirring, and vacuum pack, and control the reaction temperature at 140 ~150℃, reflect for 1.5~2.0h. After the reaction is completed, the material is fed, refrigerated, and crushed to obtain the product.
2. Double decomposition method: dissolve stearic acid in boiling water with 20 times the quality, add saturated sodium hydroxide solution, and carry out saponification at about 75°C to form a dilute sodium stearate solution. Then calcium chloride solution with a content of 1074 kg/m3 was added to the sodium stearate solution, and the metathesis reaction was carried out at about 65°C, and the substance calcium stearate was precipitated as precipitation. Then filter, wash with water, and dry at about 90°C to get the finished product.
3. Float 5.60g (0.1mol) of calcium hydroxide in 300mL of boiling water at 55°C. Then dissolve 51.4g of chemically pure stearic acid in 350ML of boiling water at 70°C, add 0.75g of diethanolamine, and stir to make it into an emulsion. Slowly add the prepared stearic acid moisturizing lotion to the calcium hydroxide mixture within 1 hour, and fully stir, filter out the milky white insoluble matter that is calcium stearate, dry it, and obtain the product.
4. Formation of calcium stearate Add calcium chloride solution with a content of 1074kg/m3 (10°Bé) to the sodium stearate solution prepared above, carry out metathesis reaction at about 65°C, and the substance calcium stearate Precipitate by deposition. Then filter, wash with water, and dry at about 90°C to get the finished product.
